House votes to curb military funeral racket

House votes to curb military funeral racket: "Larry Spalding of the ACLU described the church's tactics as 'despicable' but said that government agencies should not be passing laws 'or in this case, adding onto laws' that prohibit free speech.

He gave the example of two groups of people demonstrating at a military funeral. If one group is preaching the kind of speech that Phelps promotes and a similarly sized and equally loud group is touting the fallen soldier as a hero and a patriot, why should one group be suppressed and not the other?"
